Quentin Grimes, hailing from The Woodlands, Texas is known for his scoring ability and versatility. He first gained attention during his high school career at The Woodlands College Park, where he was named the All-Greater Houston Player of the Year, the Gatorade State Player of the Year for Texas, a McDonald’s All-American, and a five-star recruit receiving offers from 12 schools including Kentucky, Kansas, Marquette, and Texas. Grimes committed to the University of Kansas and after his freshman season transferred to the University of Houston.
At Houston, Grimes flourished, becoming a pivotal player known for his sharp shooting and defensive ability.
