Daniel Gafford was a four-star recruit in high school before going to play at the University of Arkansas. In his freshman season, Gafford averaged 11.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game and was named to the SEC All-Freshman team. Gafford followed up his first year at Arkansas with a better sophomore season when he averaged 16.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game. He was named to the 2019 SEC All-Defensive Team, as well as a 1st Team All-SEC pick.
Gafford was the 38th overall selection by the Chicago Bulls in the 2019 NBA draft. Daniel spent his rookie season splitting time between the Chicago Bulls and their G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls. In 2021 Gafford was traded to the Washington Wizards where he has since been an impactful rebounder and strong defensive presence.
