Assistant Coach Keith Veney enters his first season with the Dallas Mavericks, joining the team from the Shot Doc Shooting Academy which he started in 2009 to train NBA and WNBA players, along with holding camps and clinics across the world.

Prior to that he spent time with Nike from 2000-08. Veney played five seasons overseas in France, Iceland, Israel, Poland and Dominican Republic. Veney played in the NBA Summer League with the Sacramento Kings and went to camp in 1999.

He still holds the NCAA record for most 3-pointers in a single game (15) and the most 3-pointers in a single game by a freshman (11) twice. He ended college holding the NCAA record for most 3-pointers in a career (410), most games with double digit 3-pointers (6), and most 3-pointers in a season (135).

Veney holds the European record for most 3-pointers in a single game (12) in Iceland. He has trained players like Malcolm Brogdon, Caron Butler, and Steve Francis, among others.
