Alex Jensen joined the Dallas Mavericks as an assistant coach in July 2023. Prior to coming to Dallas, Jensen spent 10 years as an assistant coach with the Utah Jazz since 2013-14. His coaching career began with Saint Louis University (2007-2011), and from there he went on to the Canton Charge, where he was the 2013 D-League Coach of the Year.
Jensen has also spent time as a court coach at the 2018 USA Men’s National Team minicamp in advance of the 2018 FIBA World Cup and more recently served as head coach of the 2022 USA Basketball AmeriCup team. He also has seven years of international experience as an assistant with the German National Team.
Jensen enjoyed a seven-year professional career that saw him play internationally in Turkey, Spain, and Japan, A standout player at the University of Utah, he helped the Utes to the 1998 NCAA National Championship where they fell to Kentucky.
