The Mavericks on Tuesday waived center JaVale McGee.

McGee was signed before the 2022-23 season to a three-year contract worth about $17-million. He started seven games early in the season, but then fell out of the playing rotation by December.

The Mavericks now have an open roster spot that they could use on another player.

This was McGee’s second stint with the Mavericks, having also played with them in 2015-16.
