My mother warned me, rather facetiously, that I might not be allowed home for Christmas until I got the booster. So, after multiple failed attempts to walk in at CVS and Walgreens, I prepared myself for a blue Christmas.
Then I received a call from NBC5 asking to cover our gameday vaccine clinics at Jack Daniels Old No. 7. What I presumed would be a routine media coordination, turned out to be a game changer. Upon arrival, MD Labs was set up and ready for the crowd – first, allowing Mavs staff to get tested and boosted. After a recent surge of office protocol re-implementation, I was surrounded by many coworkers eager and grateful to have resources provided for the safety and well-being of our company. After a simple registration process, I was immediately greeted by a health care worker who tested and boosted me within a matter of minutes.
“We are proud to partner with American Airlines Center and MD Labs to make vaccines more accessible for our Club Maverick Members, all Mavs fans, and the community,” said Dallas Mavericks Fan Experience Manager Cory Webb. “I’m happy to help with the testing coordination to get any and all vaccinated, as we are all in this together!”
When NBC5 arrived at the start of the clinic, there was already a steady stream of ticketholders looking to get tested for the game and the general public hoping to get boosted for the holiday season.
“It’s about 50/50 on who shows up for the vaccines,” said Deliana Glenn with MD Labs Texas. “50% people of people who have tickets and 50% who see us here or heard about us being here.”
After speaking with the MD Labs staff, it was clear their appreciation for Mark Cuban and the Mavs organization in making vaccines so easy and accessible for anyone and everyone, including myself, on-site taking care of business, personally and professionally.
Now, that’s what I call the perfect work-life balance.
