JANUARY 15, 2015 (DALLAS TX) As part of the NBA FIT initiative, the Dallas Mavericks are launching MAVS FIT, presented by Baylor Emergency Medical Centers. The focus of MAVS FIT is to encourage youth to make healthy living a priority at a young age through nutritious eating and regular exercise.
The Mavericks and Baylor Emergency Medical Centers have partnered with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dallas, Arlington and Colin County for a four week MAVS FIT Challenge: Children from 12 different Boys and Girls Club branches around the metroplex will learn how to make healthy decisions and track their eating and exercise habits through a point system. MAVS FIT Challenge nutritional information was presented by Albertsons. Students will win prizes based on their level of participation, and the Boys and Girls Club branch with the highest overall point total will win a donation of brand new sporting goods equipment and a Mavs pep rally.
