The Mavs Foundation is dedicated to building a stronger community by empowering youth, women and families in need. Established in October 1996, the Mavs Foundation is a 501(c)(3) private foundation affiliated with the Dallas Mavericks professional basketball team.
Over the past 29 years, the Mavs Foundation has provided grant funding totaling more than $10 million dollars to nonprofit organizations serving women, children and families in need. In addition to grants, the Mavs Foundation has built 56 safe Learn & Play spaces throughout the North Texas community, including 31 basketball courts and 24 Reading & Learning Centers. These spaces are designed to encourage healthy living and provide a safe place for children and residents, as well as expand learning opportunities and access to technology to support youth education programs, teen and adult job skill training and other critical programs.
We’re dedicated to changing lives by supporting programs for kids in foster care, victims of domestic abuse, families struggling with homelessness and hunger, and much more.
