FEBRUARY 29, 2016 (DALLAS, TX) The Dallas Mavericks are giving fans the opportunity to help design the Mavs’ new home court for the start of the 2016-17 NBA season. Beginning today, Mavs fans can log on to mavs.com/MavsNewCourt for official Mavs logos and colors, paint restrictions and ideas for a winning court design.
“Crowdsourcing our new court design is the best way to get a wide variety of creative and unique options from our fans. It’s also an opportunity for one of our fans to literally leave their mark on the home floor for millions of people to see. May the best MFFL win!” Mavs proprietor Mark Cuban said.
Using PowerPoint, Illustrator or Photoshop, fans will create their own versions and upload their design to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and tag the image with #MavsNewCourt by Friday, March 11th at 11:59pm. (Submissions without the hashtag will not be considered).
From there, a panel of Mavs judges, including proprietor Mark Cuban, will choose the top 3 designs and post them to mavs.com/mavsnewcourt on Friday, March 18th. Fans will then be able to vote for their favorite and the winning court will be unveiled on the jumbotron at American Airlines Center during the Mavs’ final regular season home game, Fan Appreciation Night, on Wednesday, April 13, 2016.
The creator of the winning design will win 2 season tickets for the Mavs’ 2016-17 season and will be recognized on court on opening night of the Mavs’ 2016-2017 season.
