The Huddle Cultural Revolution: Reflecting on Hip Hop History

With a mission in mind, at 89 years old Dr. Opal Lee decided to take the first step to demand change by vowing to walk 1,400 miles from Fort Worth, Texas to Washington, D.C. to request that Juneteenth be recognized as a national holiday. Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall had the honor of sitting down with Dr. Opal Lee to hear about what inspired her to make a difference.

Mavs Take ACTION! hosted an in-person discussion with community leaders, focused on providing food justice in our community. Following the discussion, we united with members of the community to pack and distribute food recovery bags and help in planting a new community garden.
